We  have an excellent and convenient solution for you if you need to learn another language or to improve your present foreign language skills.

Take advantage of the latest  technology to study a foreign language and learn about the culture of the country.  It is the closest thing to study abroad without actually travelling.  You can receive personalized, live, one-to-one / private tutoring, language instruction at your home, school or office, directly from a country where the language is spoken.

Because it is On-Line, you can connect to the internet from anywhere in the world and take your lessons.

Starting Dates:

• Please let us know your preferred Starting Date.

• We will try to start your language lessons as soon as possible*.  However, you need to take a Placement Test and an instructor needs to be scheduled.

• We would prefer to have at least two weeks lead time, but will try to schedule the lessons with much less time if necessary.

* As soon as possible does not always mean immediately.

Age Groups

We have teachers for all age groups. Young children to senior citizens+.

The Instructors:

• The instructors / teachers in each country are supervised / organized either by a foreign language institute or by a foreign language and cultural organization. All are university graduates.

• The fact that there are a few instructors involved insures that students (of all ages) will be taught by someone with experience at the level of the student. If you are not happy with the instructor, changes can be made.

Texts & Materials:

• For those who want a traditional language learning program, there are texts and materials that will be supplied / e-mailed to the student. They will be part of an established curriculum.

• For those who want to concentrate on specific vocabularies or specific grammar problems or specific situations, we will work with the materials that meet the students needs or that the students may provide.

• An oral and/or written test to assess your level is included and will be given before instruction begins. No tests for absolute beginners.

• A customized program will be developed to the your specific needs and level.

• Learning materials will be forwarded in advance of the language lessons, via e-mail attachments, so you and the instructor will be looking at them simultaneously.

• A customized schedule will be set-up to meet your particular requirements.

• You can begin as soon  as all materials have been received and the schedule has been set-up.

Schedules:

• Schedules will be set up to meet the convenience, as closely as possible, of all participants.  Evening schedules and morning schedules can be arranged. 

• China will conform to all time zones.

• You can take as many lessons as you want at the same time.  From one lesson every two weeks to 2 or 3 or 4 days or an entire week of back-to-back lessons.

Schedule Options:

The longer in advance you sign up or request a time period, the easier it will be to arrange the schedule you want and the instructor that best meets your requirements.

Personalized Programs:

• Programs will be set up to meet the different needs of participants.

• Specialized vocabularies for business, health, law, etc., can be arranged. There may be an additional fee.

• You can evaluate your program after each lesson to make sure it is going in the direction you want it to.

• Instructors do have the right to make final decisions on certain aspects of language study.  There are certain things – grammar – that must be studied in a specific order / sequence.

• If you want "Conversation Only," this can be set-up for you. However, if the teacher determines that you need some help with grammar it will be included in the lessons.

What You Will Need:

• a computer with broadband (cable, DSL) internet connection,

• a headset or speakers,

• webcam (optional),**

• SKYPE (free software) installed.*** There is no charge for SKYPE calls when using computer to computer connections. You can communicate with the teacher at no cost during the language lessons.

* The teacher will use a webcam so you can see him / her. If you also have a webcam, your instructor will be able to see you as well. The webcam is not necessary, but makes it more enjoyable and more personal. The teacher can see you and there is more interaction. Webcams are very inexpensive.

Sound & Visual Quality of Each Lesson: Most of the time, the quality is very very good. However, this is a new technology.  It is possible that in a session there will be momentary “hiccups” in transmission.  The technical term is “delays.”  In most cases, it is a very very short term, momentary / seconds glitch.  It does not influence the content or overall quality of the lesson.

Accents and characters: For those who are concerned about the written part of foreign language study…  Once in Skype, you can go into the “Tools Menu,” and select “Change Language” and you will get the accents and characters of the language of choice.

Certificates:

If you need one,  Certificates of Study can be given upon completion of a course or a specific number of hours or a certain level. Certificates will be specific to what has been studied – number of lessons; material covered, etc.

Levels:

Lessons are available for All Levels: Absolute Beginner to Advanced.

College Credit:

If students sign up for an entire program, (equal to 1 full semester) they should be able to get college credit, but it is not our decision.
